Big Bad Wolf
48” x 36” woodcut on Masa paper
Inspired by Charles Perrault’s version of the tale, this work reflects the moral cautioning young girls and women about the dangers of trusting strangers. In Perrault's story, the wolf represents the predator lurking in the shadows, ready to prey on innocent girls walking through the streets at night. The story warns that "wolves" come in many forms—charming, polite, and sweet, but often these gentle wolves are the most dangerous of all.
